DRIVING/PARKING

Washington D.C. is close to a lot of different towns in the Metro area. Driving from most points within this area is fairly easy and not much of a hassle with traffic and other outside factors. If you decide to drive in, here’s how you’ll get to the Verizon Center…

Directions From Virginia:

Take I-395 N toward Washington

Take the 12th St exit

Merge onto 12th St SW

Turn right at Constitution Ave NW/US-1

Turn left at 6th St NW/US-1

Arrive at the Verizon Center

 

Directions From Maryland (Northwest of DC):

Follow the Capital Beltway/I-495 South

Take the George Washington Memorial Pkwy toward Washington

Take the exit onto I-395 N toward Washington

Take the 12th St exit

Merge onto 12th St SW

Turn right at Constitution Ave NW/US-1

Turn left at 6th St NW/US-1

Arrive at the Verizon Center

 

Directions From Maryland (Northeast of DC):

Follow I-295 South

Exit at New York Ave NE/US-50 West

Turn left at 6th St NW/US-1

Arrive at the Verizon Center

Parking

While parking around the arena is tough during events, the Verizon Center has its own parking garage right underneath the premises on 6th St. NW. The garage opens 90 minutes before the event and 60 minutes after the event. There are parking garages in the Penn Quarter neighborhood within walking distance to the Verizon Center. The garages are located at:

  • Carr Park – 601 F St. NW
  • InterPark – 616 E St. NW
  • Colonial Parking – 425 8th St. NW
  • Altman’s Parking – 901 E St. NW
  • Laz Parking – 600 E St. NW
  • Standard Parking – 777 6th St. NW
  • Central Parking – 950 F St. NW B2
  • Central Parking System – 625 Indiana Ave NW
  • Atlantic Parking – 975 F St. NW

METRO RAIL

The Metro rail in the DC area is one of the best in the business with multiple stations and cleanliness unlike any other of its kind. When traveling to the game, you can get off at any of the following stations:

  • Gallery Place-Chinatown (Red, Yellow and Green lines)
  • Judiciary Square (Red line)
  • Metro Center (Red, Orange and Blue lines)
  • Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter (Yellow and Green lines)
